Acting Registrar of the faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at the Dominica State College Denise Edwards is confident that the curriculum is meeting quality standards.Edwards said while the facility does not always agree with what the nurses do, there are several factors affecting their behavior.“We are confident because when we have students out there patients on the wards ask us why we aren’t bringing these persons back or that person back”.Edwards also confirmed that while the association is not always proud of what the members of the alumina does, “there are a number of factors in the environment which influences the quality of care but we think we are keeping with standards”.She noted that “attitude” is one of aspect of the curriculum which students must pass.“As a threat from day one, the attitude aspect is strong. We test them directly and indirectly about it and we groom them as well. An integral part of our curriculum is the attitude aspect and they must pass it. When they go out there we rate them on scale of 0-5 on their attitude”.According to Edwards, the school has had to prevent students from graduate although they possessed “good grade point averages” but were “lacking in attitudes”.Dominica Vibes News LocalNews DSC nursing curriculum meets criteria-Denise Edwards by: – April 4, 2012 Sharing is caring!
