The Lady Bulldogs scored four minutes into the contest as Carlie Werner played a thru ball to fellow Senior Forward Abbey Prickel and Prickel out sprinted the Greenwood defense for the breakaway score. Prickel added her second goal of the match with 6 minutes to play in the first half. After a defensive clearance to Werner’s feet, Werner dropped the ball off to Liz Heidlage who played Prickel into space for her second breakaway goal of the match. Greenwood caught the Lady Bulldogs off guard late in the half to make it 2-1 at the half. The Lady Bulldog defense would lock it down in the second half and only gave up 1 shot for the rest of the match. With 30 minutes to play, Olive Cerniglia punted the ball over half field and the ball found Prickel on another breakaway to the goal as she finished off her hat trick. Batesville would add one more score as Werner found the back of the net off an assist from Prickel.  Batesville will honor their 5 seniors on Senior Night Monday night vs East Central. Go Dogs!   The JV Girls soccer team faced off against Greenwood on Thursday evening. The Bulldogs started off strong and Laney Flynn scored quickly with a pass from Bella Britch. Batesville had many opportunities in the half but the Greenwood keeper did a great job defending their goal. However, that didn’t stop Tristan Rowlett from sinking a shot into the back of the net with the assist coming from Jenna Honnert. Late in the half, Eden Lewis and Hailey Lipps, main defensive players for the Bulldogs, got their chance at offense. Lipps ripped a shot that hit the near post shortly after moving up top. That sparked a new found energy and fed Lewis’ hunger for a goal. After intercepting a poor clearance, Lewis got her chance and she finished it with an upper 90 shot.
