Sophia Jackson, 27.77 Complete Results (HTML) The young Drake women’s team continued to be led by its strong senior leadership as senior Mary Young (Urbandale, Iowa) finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.46, just shy of her season best. Young’s time is the fourth best in the Missouri Valley this season and fell just behind Indiana State’s Demetria Anderson’s winning time of 8.43 Saturday. Bailee Cofer (Overland Park, Kan.) recorded a career-best mile time of 5:04.98 to finish fourth while Rai Ahmed-Green (Irvine, Calif.) took fourth and fifth in the 200 and 400 meters, respectively, to score points for the Bulldogs. Mariah Crawford, 7.93 Senior Taryn Rolle (Nassau, The Bahamas) led the Drake women’s team to a third-place finish in the team standings behind MVC foes, Indiana State and UNI. Rolle had a career-best jump of 18-10.75 (5.76m) to take second in the long jump. Rolle’s jump is the sixth longest in Drake history, besting her own mark from over a year ago by two inches.  Rolle also took third in the triple jump at 38-4.25 (11.69m). 60-Meter Hurdles (Prelims)2. Mary Young, 8.70 Long Jump2. Taryn Rolle, 18-10.75 (5.76m) Junior Aaron Chier (Belgium, Wis.) led the men’s team with a third-place finish the in 200 meters with a time of 22.20. Chier was followed by sophomore Deonne Witherspoon (South Bend, Ind.) who finished fourth with a time of 22.4 to knock more than a second of his personal best. Sophomore Xavier Lechleitner (Edgar, Wis.) also recorded a career-best in the 800 meters to finish fourth. Sophomore Malik Metivier (Toronto, Can.) rounded out the men’s top-five finishes with a 49.84 fifth-place finish in the 400 meters.  Print Friendly Version Shot Put16.
